YellowFang 

YellowFang is the main character of the book. She has a power to feel other cats pain. Because of this power,the current medicaine of ShadowClan says that she needs to be a medicaiane cat. YellowFang doesn't believe that because she trained to be a warrior. She wanted to be a warrior her whole life. Later in the book she relizes it's the right thing,so she becomes a medicaiane cat. 

RaggedPelt 

RaggeePelt is YellowFang's mate. He and YellowFang are always fighting when she tells him she is destined to be a medica be cat. RaggedPelt gets mad at this because he said when he became leader,he would pick YellowFang to be his deputy, and they could have kits. When she becomes a medicine cat,she can't be deputy,and can't have kits. So this makes him so mad,he decided to take on a new mate.

BrokenStar 

BrokenStar is RaggedPelt's and YellowFang's son. He is very bad. He starts making kits fight in battles and he kicks the elders out of the clans. He also makes all the cats work to hard. Everyday he is making the clan fight and fight. All of these fights are unnecessary. It started when he was a kit. Right when he was born,he was being really visious. At the end of the book he becomes leader,and he kicks YellowFang out of the clan,never knowing she was his mother. 

SageWhisker 

SageWhisker is the current medicaine cat of ShadowClan. She had always known that YellowFang had the power to feel other cats pain. She tried her whole life to get YellowFang to believe her,that she had to be a medicane cat. YellowFang finally believed her,and became medicane cat st the end of the book,right before SageWhisker dies of old age.
